Types of Industrial Cranes

Mobile cranes have a wide variety of industrial uses, and there are many different types of industrial cranes that are suited to accomplish different jobs. TNT Crane and Rigging is a supplier of all kinds of mobile crane rentals in Alberta and we can ensure that any lifting operation is properly planned out and supplied with the right mobile crane.

Mobile Crane Types

Depending on the type of load being lifted, the placement of the load, and the nature of the jobsite being worked on, a different type of mobile crane will be required to get the task done. Some of the industrial crane types provided by TNT Crane and Rigging include:

Crawler Cranes

Crawler cranes are incredibly useful for any jobsite that requires heavy lifting over slippery, unstable, or soft ground. This type of mobile crane runs on tracks instead of wheels, meaning that it is equipped to keep excellent traction and perform lifts in any conditions. The machine’s weight is evenly deployed across the treads to keep the crane stable when lifting heavy loads.

All-Terrain Cranes

When a jobsite requires a mobile crane that is versatile and can lift exceptionally heavy loads, all-terrain cranes offer a great solution. All-terrain cranes are a type of truck crane that can traverse over a variety of ground types and can also travel at speeds on main roads, which makes them an ideal industrial crane rental for remote building projects.

Stiff-Boom Truck Cranes

Stiff-boom truck cranes are extremely mobile cranes that are able to lift and move loads with precision and care using a winch and an unarticulated boom. This type of rental crane comes in a wide variety of sizes and weight capacities.

Folding Boom Cranes

If a lifting operation requires a wide range of motion and the ability to quickly deliver, load, and unload materials, folding boom cranes are the way to go. Also known as knuckle boom cranes, picker trucks, and articulating cranes, these cranes use an articulated arm to lift and place equipment on a jobsite. Folding boom cranes fold up to be smaller than most other types of industrial cranes, which enables them to access construction sites with tighter entrances.
