At Vulcan Metal Works, we provide a wide range of gate types with various opening options. Whether you are securing commercial, private, or public property, we can help you pick and install the right gate.

Entrance Gate Types

There are many different options available for entrance gates and opening systems. The best gate to use will depend on the type of traffic that needs to move through the entrance. Most types of gates can be automated for ease of entry. Some of the types of gates available include:

Swing Gates

Swing gates are among the simplest and most straightforward types of gates. As the name implies, they swing outward or inward on a hinge, which makes them incredibly easy to use and compatible with most types of fences. Swing gates can be used on many types of properties, but they pose challenges on uneven ground or areas with very little space for the gate to swing.

Slide Gates

Slide gates can be seen on many different properties because they take up very little space, they are easy to use, and they can be automated using a fairly simple system. They are almost as common as swing gates and they are used frequently on commercial properties.

Barrier Gates

For areas that only need to restrict access to vehicles, barrier gates are a great option. Foot traffic and animals can easily get through, but larger vehicles are barred entrance. This makes them ideal for parks, trails, and parking lots. Barrier gates typically swing on a hinge.

Vertical Pivot Lift Gates

If space and terrain restrictions are an issue, vertical pivot lift gates are an excellent option. These gates use a pivot point on one side to vertically lift the other side into the air. This is a great way to have an automated gate in an area with open overhead space, but no room for a swing gate or slide gate.
