As a native Frenchman, Chef Philippe Wettel refined his culinary skills in France under the tutelage of the famous French Chef Michel Guerard before moving to Chicago, Illinois. During his time in Chicago, Chef Wettel created some of the most original and exquisite dishes known to the Chicago area.

After gaining experience and knowledge about American cuisine, Chef Wettel returned to France to open his own restaurant in Colmar, Alsace. Here he created innovative dishes for three years, based on his years of learning and hands-on experience, before accepting the position of Chef de Cuisine for Le Baccara restaurant. As Chef de Cuisine, Chef Wettel provided some of the best culinary experiences the Ottawa-Hull region had to offer.

Today, Executive Chef Wettel is part of the Westin Hotels & Resorts’ team of world-renowned executive chefs and oversees all culinary operations for the 484-room property. Executive Chef Philippe Wettel has continued to amaze his clients with epicurean, divine, and memorable culinary experiences.
