How Vinyl Car Wraps are Made

4 Apr 2019 Vinyl Wraps

Learning about how vinyl car wraps are made can help you understand the amount of time and effort that goes into designing and installing a high-quality, custom vehicle wrap. All custom vinyl wraps from Wrap Guys are custom designed from scratch to suit the needs of each individual customer and to provide them with the most value for their money.

Vinyl Car Wrap Design

The first step in making any vinyl car wrap is coming up with the best design for your particular wants and needs. Our team of talented in-house graphic artists will start the design process by meeting with you to ensure that we have a clear understanding of what you are looking for, including the imagery, messaging, and colour palette you would like to incorporate into the final design.

After meeting with you, our team will take any assets you have provided (images, branding, etc.), as well as the ideas discussed in the meeting, and transform them into a mock-up of the design that will appear in the final vehicle wrap. You will then have the opportunity to review the car wrap design and provide us with any changes that you would like made. By providing you with the chance to approve the final design, we hope to eliminate anything unexpected during the making of your custom car wrap.

Printing a Vehicle Wrap

Once we have received complete design approval from you, our team will coordinate an installation date that works with your schedule. Our team will then get to work on printing your vehicle wrap using the highest quality 3M vinyl and latex ink materials. All vehicle wraps printed by Wrap Guys are also laminated with an extra UV protection layer to help prevent damage from everyday sun exposure.

By only printing our custom car wraps on the highest quality materials, we can ensure that they are able to stand the test of time—lasting more than nine years—and can easily withstand minor dings and scratches, as well as harsh weather conditions.

Custom Vinyl Car Wrap Installation

Before installing your new vinyl car wrap, our team will take the time to wash your vehicle to remove any dirt that can prevent the wrap from being as smooth and seamless as possible. Once the vehicle is clean and dry, our team will begin adhering the vinyl wrap to your car, using a blowtorch to heat and stretch the vinyl and a special squeegee to help remove any bubbles that appear.
