Whether you are from BC and want to expand your horizons with a new riding route or you are a visitor to the area and need advice on what should not be missed, it is always worth knowing some of the top motorcycle rides in the Lower Mainland.

The Best Motorcycle Daytrips from Vancouver

BC is one of the greatest places in the world to go for a motorcycle trip. The amount of unique landscape that can be easily accessed with a short ride from Vancouver makes any ride a diverse and awesome experience. Some of the best motorcycle trips in the Lower Mainland include:

5. Fort Langley Loop

For a beginner-style motorcycle trip, follow Highway 1 towards Langley and take the exit at 200th Street. Follow the numbered roads until you can turn north on 208th Street, and follow it until it begins to loop along the river. Follow the river as it cuts through beautiful rural land and into Fort Langley, where it is worth stopping for some excellent food. From there, continue along River Road all the way out to 264th Street, where you can access the highway and loop back to Vancouver.

4. The Golden Ears Loop

Starting with a scenic highway ride along the river and through the valley, this loop travels along the foot of the Golden Ears Mountains through vacant backcountry roads. Make stops to look out over the Stave and Fraser Rivers, Allouette Lake, and incredible mountain views.

3. Harrison Hot Springs Loop

This loop follows Highway 1 all the way out to Bridal Falls and then cuts across the river to Harrison Hot Springs. You can stop in the town for food or a walk and then continue along the north side of the Fraser River on Highway 7.

2. Sunshine Coast

Although this route technically expands beyond the Lower Mainland of BC, it can easily be done in a day trip from Vancouver. Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Gibsons and follow the highway all the way to Earls Cove. The views along this highway of Sechelt Inlet and the Straight of Georgia are absolutely majestic.

1. The Duffey Lake Loop

This loop is one of the most beautiful and popular motorcycle trips that BC has to offer and it has been featured in multiple top ten lists for the world’s best motorcycle routes. It starts by following the world-renowned See to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler and then takes a turn towards Lillooet. From there, head south towards Hope and loop back towards Vancouver. This is a more advanced trip that takes more than 8 hours but, with plenty of scenic stopping points to look out over the inlet, river, mountains, lakes, and waterfalls and some of the best technical driving roads in BC, this trip needs to be experienced.
