Mezzanine Gate Types

Handrail Chain Gates

Handrail chain gates are an effective and economical option that can suit most facilities and their work environment. These units feature simple construction that consists of 1 or 2 chains that can be detached for loading/unloading and reattached once the job is done.

Handrail Pipe Gates

A step up from chain gates, handrail pipe gates feature pipes that slide left or right onto other rails to create an opening. These rails are sturdy and rigid, allowing for enhanced security and safety. Pipe gates are easy to open and close after the forklift has placed or retrieved a pallet, further enhancing safety and efficiency.

Handrail Swing Gates/Double Swing Gates

Available in single and double configurations, handrail swing gates provide exceptional access for forklifts and the materials they are handling. As referenced by the name, these units feature gates that “swing” outward at a 90° angle, creating a large opening for placing/retrieving materials. Single gates feature one large swinging gate, while double gates feature a split gate that functions similarly to saloon doors. Regardless of the configuration, these gates can be easily pulled back and locked in place for optimal safety.

Pivot Safety Gates

Pivot safety gates offer leading safety without compromising accessibility. Each unit is designed to protect the open areas of the mezzanine/storage platform during the placement or retrieval of materials. Though safety pivot gates feature a complex design, they are easy to use and can be installed on most mezzanine systems. When one side of the pivot safety gate is open/raised, the other side is closed/down, allowing for optimal access by forklifts without compromising the safety of workers on the top level of the mezzanine.
